This festive season, The Gilbert Scott has partnered with Nyetimber to bring some sparkle to your Christmas celebrations. As purveyors of award-winning English sparkling, they use traditional methods of production to transform estate-grown fruit into globally recognised drops.
In both The Gilbert Scott and George’s Bar, we’ve added the 2013 Blanc de Blancs to our wine list, serving by the glass and bottle. Made from 100% chardonnay grapes from West Sussex and Hampshire, it has a lovely pale colour, subtle vanilla and pastry flavours and a long and complex finish, making for the perfect accompaniment to our seafood dishes.
We’re also featuring Nyetimber’s newly named Cuvee Cherie Demi Sec NV. It takes its name from the Head Winemaker, Cherie Spriggs, whose meticulous attention to detail allows for an fantastic end product.
The Cuvee Cherie is a medium-sweet wine made from 100% chardonnay grapes and aged for four years in bottle. It was initially designed to complement classic British desserts, such as Eton Mess, but is well-suited to spicy savoury dishes as well.
It also happens to pair wonderfully with our mince pies, available in the bar and restaurant throughout December. Finish your meal with this festive combination, or simply pop by George’s Bar for an afternoon treat – it’s sure to add some sparkle to your day.
If you’re passing by, make sure you take a second to admire our Christmas tree, designed by McQueens Flowers. We particularly love the Nyetimber decorations, including their version of the iconic London double decker bus.
Nyetimber’s Blanc de Blancs and Cuvee Cherie are available by the glass and bottle in both The Gilbert Scott and George’s Bar until December 31, 2019.
