We are thrilled to hear that Chef Chantelle Nicholson and our team at Tredwells have been shortlisted for Sustainable Restaurant of the Year at the National Restaurant Awards. It is an honour to be nominated for something we care so passionately about, and to be nominated alongside follow chefs and restaurants that we admire and share our passion for conscious, sustainable dining.
It has been an enjoyable journey seeing so many guests trying our Vegwells menus over the past few months demonstrating how accessible and beneficial a plant-based dining can be. It was these notions of accessibility and education that really appealed to Chantelle when writing her debut solo cook-book Planted: “Vegan, to me, is a lifestyle which can sometimes seem very daunting and negative to a lot of people,” explains Chantelle, “talking about plant-based food and how having a more plant-based diet can impact our environment is what excited me.”
The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards recognise the best restaurants in the UK as voted for by people who really know their stuff – top chefs, restaurateurs and food writers. From Michelin-starred dining rooms with tasting menus to casual neighbourhood bistros and steakhouses, the awards are a celebration of places in the UK that make eating out a true pleasure.
The National Restaurant Awards take place on Monday 11th June
