Half term, Valentine’s Day, London Fashion Week, the BAFTAs; now that the longest month of the year is over, it seems that February wants to make up for lost time, and squeeze in as much as possible in its 28-days. Fortunately, Tredwells is on-hand to ensure that you are appropriately fed and watered to support all of these activities. Below we’ve handpicked out top 5 recommendations in the local area, this month.
MATILDA THE MUSICAL AT THE CAMBRIDGE THEATRE
TUESDAY – SUNDAY THROUGHOUT FEBRUARY
Celebrating its sixth birthday in the West End last October, Matilda remains one of London’s best-loved musicals and is a great option for entertaining the children this half-term. Fill tummies pre-performance by combining your trip to the Cambridge Theatre with a visit to Tredwells (a 2-min walk from the theatre) with either our Junior menu, or for the more adventurous, the Culinary Kids tasting menu, available before both evening and matinée performances.
‘SIXTIES STYLE: SHOT BY DUFFY’ AT PROUD CENTRAL
NOW – 18TH MARCH
Proud Galleries presents ‘Sixties Style: Shot by Duffy’, an exhibition celebrating the bold appearances that defined London’s vibrant ‘Swinging Sixties’. Recognised for his exemplary collaborations with the faces of the sixties including David Bowie, Jean Shrimpton and Michael Caine, Duffy recorded modern Britain and explored the youth-driven cultural shift within art, music and fashion. With free entry, Monday – Sunday, 11am – 6pm, continue the sixties vibe with cocktails at Tredwells (a 7-min walk from the gallery), with some of the decade’s favourites including a Tom Collins or New Fashioned.
LONDON FASHION WEEK AT THE STORE STUDIOS

London Fashion Week continues its third season at its new home at the Store Studios on The Strand. As media and buyers descend on the capital, to see some of the world’s best designers showcase their new autumn / winter 2018 collections, Tredwells will ensure the fashion-set is kept nutritionally fulfilled with numerous lighter, healthier options including a grilled prawn, pear, parsnip & Thai salad or roasted cauliflower, saffron, cornichon, caper & lemon. Alternatively, its 5-course Planted tasting menu is available for just £35 per person.
CHINESE NEW YEAR, ACROSS THE WEST END
SUNDAY 18TH FEBRUARY
Celebrate the Year of the Dog with the biggest Chinese New Year celebrations outside Asia. The central London festivities take place across the West End, from Shaftesbury Avenue in the north, down to Trafalgar Square. Whilst the main parade of colourful floats and over 30 teams takes place on Charing Cross Road from 10am before snaking its way through Chinatown, Leicester Square is where you’ll find the family zone for cultural activities and family-friendly performances including calligraphy, Chinese music, dressing up in traditional outfits and more. Combine a trip to the celebrations with a 3 course Sunday roast for £30 at Tredwells, or else enjoy one of the two children’s menus: the Junior menu or Culinary Kids tasting menu.
