What’s On: Covent Garden January Agenda

We’ve curated some of the best local events taking place in and around Covent Garden this January. Why not join us for a lunch or dinner before enjoying the very best that central London has to offer.

Skate at Somerset House

Now – 14th January

If you haven’t had a chance to get to Somerset House this winter, you better get your skates on because it’s the closing weekend of Somerset House’s picturesque ice rink. And to send it off in style, they’ve requested the company of former Bombay Bicycle Club frontman Jack Steadman (aka Mr Jukes) to DJ the final Skate Late this Friday, mixing together disco, soul and South American beats; while Fortnum & Mason take care of the après-skate. Join us at Tredwells for an early bite to eat to help channel your inner Tourval & Dean.

Now- 21st January

This exhibition, currently running at The Courtauld Gallery until 21st January 2018, brings together an outstanding group of portraits by Chaïm Soutine (1893-1943). Soutine was one of the leading painters in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s and was seen by many as the heir to Vincent van Gogh. This major exhibition is the first time he has been exhibited in the United Kingdom in 35 years. Fascinated by the cooks and waiting staff of French hotels and restaurants, the resulting series of portraits offer powerful images that established Soutine’s reputation and turned him from a relatively unknown painter into the revered artist we know today.
The Courtauld Gallery is located  in London’s iconic Somerset House, a 10 minute walk from Tredwells, making it a perfect day out for any art enthusiasts.

18th – 21st January

Bigger, brighter and bolder, the Lumiere London light festival returns for a spectacular second edition. More than 40 UK and international artists reimagine London’s iconic architecture and streets, transforming the city into a dazzling nocturnal art exhibition. Free to visit and taking place north and south of the river Thames, the UK’s largest light festival extends its reach across the capital.
This year is the first year that this spectacle of lights will feature in London’s West End with instalations from talented artists such as Camille Gross, Stephen Mason, Jo Pocock and Rhys Cohen. Make your way around the various locations and join us for a cocktail or bite to eat to celebrate this truly epic festival of lights.

Now-3rd Feb

Married American twentysomethings Zach and Abby, played by British stars James Norton and Imogen Poots, are the kind of couple others want to be. He’s a doctor for a charity fighting infant disease, she’s an actress. Both are beautiful, live in bohemian Belleville in Paris and apparently have just enough money to be both poor and chic. Directed by Amy Herzog, this is the latest offering from the prestigious Donmar Warehouse to receive rave reviews across the board.
With the production now sold out, The Donmar offers last-minute opportunities to acquire tickets through their Klaxon Program.
Located a short 3min walk from Tredwells, join us from 17:00pm- 18:30pm for our pre-theatre menu.
