Sales and Reservations Manager

We have a very exciting opportunity to join Marcus Wareing Restaurants as our group sales and reservations manager.

The key priorities of this role will be to proactively seek new business opportunities, deliver unique experiences and build client loyalty whilst overseeing the reservations and events teams for Marcus, The Gilbert Scott and Tredwells. As an ideal candidate, you will have an ability to proactively identify and develop new corporate and social partnerships, cross-sell between the different spaces our restaurants offer and nurture current relationships with a number of key clients. You will also have sound experience in restaurant and event reservations and managing a team.

This exciting role will include:

Reservations & Events Management

Responsibility for overseeing the day to day running of the reservations office, leading the reservations and events teams

Implementing staff training and procedures to efficiently maximise all opportunities and ensure the highest level of service for our guests

Responsibility for managing all reservations and events booking systems; maximising availability and their efficient use at all times

Monitoring and reporting on reservations activity and highlighting both high and low periods to the relevant departments

Working with the marketing team to increase business using all available tools

IdentifyingVIP, regular and high spending clients and ensuring recognition by the teams

Utilising guest data on our systems to ensure the database and key contacts are regularly reached out to with news and offers, particularly during need periods

Managing initial event enquiries, operations and planning

Taking responsibility for overseeing timely deposit payments, correct billing and invoicing

Sales

Proactively identify and develop new corporate opportunities

Cross-selling between the different restaurants and spaces

Evaluating, qualifying and responding to leads in a professional and timely manner – delegating to the teams where appropriate

Acting as the liaison between the client and the restaurant to present cost proposals; maximising and converting potential bookings and closing the sale

Recognising opportunities to maximise revenue through up-selling and offering enhancements throughout the event process

Generating event contracts to finalise the booking and ensuring all aspects of the event can be executed by the restaurant teams

Ensuring seamless communications with the restaurant teams to deliver the events

Actively seek out new client opportunities and establish relationships

Regularly evaluating each restaurant’s Business on the Books as the foundation to constantly drive sales

Future planning; ensuring that we are working ahead as well as in the present.

Plan and strategise, whilst working with the marketing team, to stay on top of business

Current-client and future-client entertaining to showcase the spaces and offer

What we are looking for:  Someone who is passionate about hospitality

A self-starter and creative thinker  3+ years in sales and restaurant reservations or events

Restaurant and/or hospitality background

Knowledge of the restaurant and events market in London with the capability to utilise insights to drive sales

Sound administration and computer skills, with attention to detail

Confidence in managing reservations systems and procedures

Excellent communication skills; both written and spoken

Someone who is approachable and able to inspire others with a clear passion quality and integrity for what we do

Have the ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the business

Availability for entertaining in the evening from time to time

Experienced Receptionist
