Waiter

Michelin-starred restaurant Marcus is looking for a Waiter/ess who wants to be part of our award-winning team.

As one of London’s most acclaimed restaurants, Marcus delivers Michelin-starred cooking in a relaxed and contemporary space. We are passionate about supporting and employing the next
generation of talent and are led by an ambassador for British cooking, Marcus Wareing.

We are a small and friendly team who thrive on a passion for fine food and wine and exceptional customer service. We know that our restaurant is defined by our people, so are dedicated to investing in your long-term career development and success, equipping you with all the tools to progress professionally.

We are looking for someone to join our front of house team, on a flexible hourly-paid basis, supporting the seamless running of the restaurant by providing a highly efficient and effective service, ensuring standards are maintained and guests’ needs are anticipated.

What you’ll be doing in the role:
— Deliver an exceptional service to ensure guests have a memorable experience
— Engage with guests to ensure they are exceptionally looked after and their needs are anticipated
— To have a thorough knowledge of all menu offerings and be able to deliver and provide the guest with that information
— Work effectively and flexibly with other team members, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant team
— Present and serve Cheese from our trolley
— Look after guests on our Chef’s Table and Private Room to ensure they have a special experience

What we’re looking for:
— Previous restaurant experience in London preferred
— Good command of English
— Ability to work fast and in a busy environment
— Outgoing personality with a passion to deliver
— Enthusiastic, quick thinking with a can-do attitude
— Must be available to work evenings and weekends

Sommelier

We are looking for someone to join our sommelier team, supporting the seamless running of the restaurant by providing a highly efficient and effective wine service, ensuring standards are maintained and guests’ needs are anticipated.

What we’re looking for in a Sommelier:
— Strong interest in food and wine
— Real passion to deliver the highest levels of service
— Previous restaurant experience as a Sommelier or Waiter
— WSET qualified or working towards it
— Outgoing personality with a great eye for detail
— Enthusiastic and able to genuinely inspire others by example
— A strong command of English

What you’ll be doing in the role:
— Deliver an exceptional service to ensure guests have a memorable experience
— Engage appropriately with guests to ensure they understand what wines we offer and make recommendations to suit their tastes and menu selection
— Master various sales techniques to ensure our guests need are anticipated
— Develop your knowledge of wines and wine making
— Ensure all wines used are recorded as part of stock control
— Work effectively and flexibly with other team members, contributing to the overall success of the front of house team

Demi Chef de Partie

We are looking for a passionate chef or a chef with a love for producing great food and a hunger to learn. You will be joining a team led by Craig Johnston, 2022 Acorn Award winner.

What you’ll be doing as a Demi Chef de Partie:

— Assisting the chef de partie in the running of a busy section
— Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within a speciality
— Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen to the highest level, as part of the team
— Working to the highest standard of food hygiene and health and safety
— Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins

What we’re looking for in a Demi Chef de Partie:

— A strong passion for the kitchen, fresh produce and working in a team
— A great attitude with a willingness to learn and the hunger to develop their skills
— The ability to work well under pressure
— Good attention to detail
— A great personality – fun, passionate, charismatic, enthusiastic, people-focused and adaptable to all personalities
— A great communicator – excellent at developing relationships with the team and others involved
— A good command of English and proof of eligibility to work in UK
— Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous

Sous Chef

Joining a talented and creative kitchen team you will be an integral part of the continued success of the restaurant. You will be joining a team led by Craig Johnston, 2022 Acorn Award winner.

What you will be doing as a Sous Chef:
— Assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of the kitchen operations
— Supervising the kitchen team and working on their professional development
— Ability to take charge of every section in the kitchen
— Preparing, cooking and presenting our dishes to Michelin-star standard
— Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen to highest level
— Working to highest standard of food hygiene, health and safety
— Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
— You will be contracted to work 60 hours per week over 5 days

What we are looking for in a Sous Chef:
— A passion and creativity for fresh food and British produce
— Experience in a similar role with fine dining cuisine
— Ability to perform under pressure
— An enthusiastic leader, able to genuinely inspire others by example
— Enthusiasm and quick thinking, with a can do attitude
— Organised, tidy and highly attentive to detail
— Act as a point of contact and support for the commis chefs
— A good command of English as a base requirement
