Sommelier

Michelin-starred restaurant Marcus is looking for a passionate Sommelier who wants to be part of our award-winning team.

As one of London’s most acclaimed restaurants, Marcus delivers Michelin-starred cooking in a relaxed and contemporary space. We are looking for someone to join our sommelier team, supporting the seamless running of the restaurant by providing a highly efficient and effective wine service, ensuring standards are maintained and guests’ needs are anticipated.

What we’re looking for:
– Strong interest in food and wine
– Real passion to deliver the highest levels of service
– Previous restaurant experience as a Sommelier or Waiter
– WSET qualified or working towards it
– Outgoing personality with a great eye for detail
– Enthusiastic and able to genuinely inspire others by example
– A strong command of English

What you’ll be doing in the role:
– Deliver an exceptional service to ensure guests have a memorable experience.
– Engage appropriately with guests to ensure they understand what wines we offer and make recommendations as required
– Ensure all wines used are recorded as part of stock control
– Participate in training and development to maintain and increase knowledge
– Work effectively and flexibly with other team members, contributing to the overall success of the sommelier team
– Monitor wine preorders for events

Commis Pastry Chef

What you’ll be doing:

– Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins

– Strong interest in food and wine

– Previous restaurant experience as a Senior Waiter or Head Waiter
– Flexible and proactive attitude
– Outgoing personality with a natural passion to interact with fellow colleagues and our guests
– Enthusiastic and able to genuinely inspire others by example
– A strong command of English
– Full awareness of current legislation regarding hygiene, allergen and licensing laws as they apply to the restaurant

What you’ll be doing in the role:
– Deliver an exceptional service to ensure guests have a memorable experience
– To lead and take full ownership of a section of the restaurant during service
– Engage with guests to ensure they are exceptionally looked after and their needs are anticipated
– To have a thorough knowledge of all menu offerings and be able to deliver and provide the guest with that information
– Work effectively and flexibly with other team members, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant team
