Marcus Wareing at the Rosewater Pavilion at Wimbledon

The 2023 Wimbledon Championships was a rollercoaster of upsets, battles and sweet victories on the tennis court, but an oasis of calm at the Rosewater Pavilion, where Marcus Wareing and his team brought a taste of SW1X to SW19 for the final four days of the world-famous tournament.

Taking over the prestigious pavilion for the semi-finals and finals, Marcus and his team welcomed 400 guests a day, serving a menu that incorporated classic dishes from Marcus Belgravia, along with recipes from his cookbooks, all inspired by what he grows in his kitchen garden.

The menu told a story of the British Isles - from Devonshire duck and crab, to Chalk Stream trout and Cornish halibut, it was a reflection of the brilliant ingredients our farmers and artisans grow, rear and produce every day. Paired with the best local fruits and vegetables, it truly was the best of the UK on a plate.

Of course, it wouldn’t have been a Marcus Wareing menu without a signature, so the custard tart he served to the Queen on her 80th birthday in 2006 was always going to be included! This year, it was served with a beautiful raspberry ripple ice cream and garibaldi biscuits.

Marcus was joined by Mark Froydenlund, former joint Chef Patron at Marcus Belgravia, and Adam Fargin, executive chef of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, and a graduate of the first cohort of the Forward Programme, run in partnership with Compass Group.

A number of chefs from the second cohort of the Forward Programme also joined the team, making it a truly collaborative effort!

Over 1500 guests passed through the Rosewater Pavilion’s doors over those four days, with glowing reviews on the day and afterwards: “The day itself was fabulous with lovely food and drinks in the Rosewater Pavilion, matched with excellent, friendly service from all the staff. Our Centre Court seats were superb and we both thoroughly enjoyed our day. Thanks very much to all involved!” said Laura, a valued Rosewater guest.

Tickets aren’t available for the 2024 Championships just yet, but you can register your interest in the Rosewater Pavilion for 2024 here.
